It might have been after turnovers were put back in the right order. I was first when turnovers were good instead of bad, but dropped down a few spots after that was sorted out.

Whilst fouls are on the spreadsheet (and there is a ranking for it), you'll find if you look at the tallying formula that the ranking points for fouls aren't included.

Thoughts from this round:

Team Latts finishes 14 points lower (52 to 38) after this round - who'd have thought a line-up with Rolan Roberts, Mark Worthington and David Stiff would suck so hard this week???

Revolving Turnstiles continue to suck even harder, falling to 21 points, bottoming out the league in 3 categories - 3 Point, Points and Rebounding - ever get the feeling that losing Horvath and Black for significant numbers of weeks really hurts? Hopefully the return of Steve Black this week should make a difference.

The Shazbats continue to reign supreme based on some nice performances from Glen Saville and Rich Melzer, however it's the all-round performance from the entire line-up that seems to keep Stan on top.

Convicts rose 8 points this week (53 to 61) behind some nice numbers to Casey Calvary and CJ Bruton (who'dve thought?), and it'll be interesting to see whether they can challenge Stan and Anok at the top, who have used 5-7 more games than Stumps to get their 1st and 2nd placings so far.

Just in case it matters at the end of the comp, are you planning to settle ties between two teams in a category by giving half marks, as Yahoo does?

For example, right now T-Rich and I are tied for the league lead in blocked shots, and the spreadsheet has given us 9 points each, whereas usually we'd get 9.5.

I'm not asking you to fiddle with the spreadsheet to accommodate that, as it's not really worth it, but it would be nice to manually adjust the scores at the end of the season if required in order to be completely accurate.

Thoughts for this round:
Convicts rise 4 points...Stumps' crew played 12 games this week - Calvary, Mel Thomas and Willie Farley poured in enough to keep the chained ones at the top of the tree once for the second week in a row.

Pretty in Pink drop a single point however manage to climb to second (thanks to the 'Bats fall - see below) despite playing a breath-taking 17 games...who knew?

Shazbats drop 6 points again this round to fall to third. The 'Bats fell 6 points in Round 4 and whilst benching Matt Burston in favour of Tony Rampton may have stopped the slide this week, the benching of Lindsay Tait when he goes and drops 14 points, 6 boards and 4 assists (as opposed to Rhys Carter's 7p 5r 7a on 33%FG) probably cost him a point or 2.

McKinley Norsemen rise 5 points to 55 with some decent input from Hunter's Mike Helms (62 points, 11 boards, 7 steals in 3 games), Paul Rogers (13 points, 12 boards, 4 blocks) and Mick Hill (17 points at 67%FG)...it will be interesting to see how the Norsemen fare this week as there is a fair gap in stats for them to move upwards, yet not much separates them from their followers... :?

Growlers stay on 51 points this week, playing 11 games. They have the most prolific rebounders in Anstey, Redhage, Tucker & Holmes, yet struggle with the turnover count and three pointers...ranked second-worst in both categories.

Inhalers only played 7 games and dropped 7 points - and how do I explain it? Let me see - one game from Mark Bradtke, one game from Adam Ballinger (10 points on 21%FG, 6 rebounds), Brett Maher's 14 points on 6/20FG - 30%, Jason Smith didn't play, and of course, BJ Carter didn't play either. Round 7 should prove slightly more fruitful on would think.

Drunk Dunkers dropped a point, yet held onto seventh place with the side playing 11 games in total this week. No great changes except Leon's men hold onto their top ranking in the FG% stat by 3.5 percentage points...gotta love Gary Boodnikoff's current form ;)

Team Latts remain in eighth again this week...dropping 2 points on an 8-game effort - hampered by having 3 Kings on the roster and only Paul Rees to bring off the bench. :? Admittedly having James Harvey and Cortez Groves does help keep the points stat ticking over...but not enough to improve on 8th ranked in that category.

The Revolving Turnstiles are the best performed this round, rising 8 points...only problem is that they're now ranked 9th instead of last. :? The FG% rank soared from 8th to 4th (therefore 2 pts to 7 pts)...now it'll be interesting to see whether they can rid themselves of the last ranking they hold in 3 categories...could be worse though - it could be...(see below)

University of Thomas unfortunately fall to last by falling 3 points...ummm...missing Geordie Cullen...no Ben Knight...and Cam Tragardh...well - 2 points on 1/3FG (and yes, that's his entire stat line!) in 2 games...sorry Glove, but work to do.

On my behalf, it has been mostly luck of the draw. The trade probably gained me an extra couple of games to date. It is worth remembering though that in the last 2 seasons of FNBL, very few teams got even remotely close to the games limit.

FYI - I have added the "relegation zone" marker as the bottom 2 sides from Division 1 will be relegated to Division 2 next year, and the top 2 teams in Division 2 are guaranteed a spot in next year's Division 1 FNBL competition.

The top 8 teams in Division 1 plus the top 2 teams from Division 2 will make up next season's Division 1 FNBL.

If one of the top 8 sides from Division 1 does not re-enter next season, the third-placed Division 2 side will be elevated, with the ninth-ranked side from Division 1 being the next eligible team for re-entry (if a second of the Top 8 does not re-enter).

Well my team can't take a trick at the moment. I get Horvath back for about 5 quarters, and now apparently Stephen Black has gone down.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what their injuries are, as the NBL website (as usual) has nothing worthwhile.

Frankly, considering my injuries I think i've done bloody well to hang on to at least one other player for so long. With a healthy team performing up to their expected level of performance, i've no doubt i've got a top 5 team, but them's the breaks.

The week in review
Only one change in leaderboard order, with Latts Devils and The revolving turnstiles flip-flopping in the "relegation zone". Latts' men actually improved one point to 28 thanks to some decent points from Rolan Roberts and Mark Worthington, however Liam Rush and Luke Martin were DNP's, so the charge up the ladder still looks a little way off.

Ninth-placed Turnstiles improved 2 points to 29, and cut the gap to eighth place by 1 point (Glove is on 42). Glove's University of Thomas improved by a point as well to 42 points - the form of Geordie Cullen out-weighing the worst EFF of the season (Daryl Corletto's minus 7 v. Adelaide).

The Shazbats continue to hold down seventh-spot with 46 points (up 1) as the bench (Dann, Crosswhite, Rhys Carter) finding some form as compared to previous weeks.

The Drunk Dunkers are still sixth on 49 points, whilst Gretchen's Pretty in Pink dropped one point to 52 and the McKinley Norsemen still hold down fourth spot with 55 points (down 2), although the loss of Mike Helms must concern Mr Thrillgate -> one wonders whether utilising Mitch Selwood (on the bench) would help to slightly fill the gap.

Third place sees the Convicts drop one point (to 61) - Melvin Thomas isn't contributing much, and David Cooper and Kelvin Robertson continue to rot away on Stumps' bench...

Second spot again sees Anok fall short of the top spot by a solitary point (65, down 1 from last week) - what does this man's roster have to do to get over the leader I wonder??!?

First spot is again Trich's Growlers with 66 points - he's held the top spot for all but one week since Round 8 and looks fairly secure with the stellar play of Anstey, Redhage, Luke Kendall and Dave Thomas. Trich has been missing Rashard Tucker for the last 2 weeks and didn't have Matt Shanahan or Shawn Redhage this week (Perth had the bye) and yet he still runs first - hmmm....

The deadline for this week is Friday 5pm due to their being no Wednesday games - good luck all!

For next season the top 8 finishers in Division 1 will be invited to stay in Division 1. The top 2 finishers in Division 2 (Madcat and moonshadow) will be invited to join Division 1. The bottom 2 finishers (CoT and Latts) in Division 1 will be relegated to Division 2.

If there is an additional space (or spaces) in Division 1 due to any one of the 10 eligible Ozhoopers not taking their place, then the following order will be recognised for entry to Division 1:

1. Ross Williams (due to his accidental elimination from Division 1)
2. Third place from Division 2 (giantfan)
3. Ninth place from Division 1 (CoT)
4. Fourth place from Division 2 (Hellcat)
5. Tenth place from Division 1 (Latts)
