Yup, go Cairns... (the enemy of my enemy is my friend :) )

Although that being said, with my support of Cairns, get your money on the Tigers ;)

I think that this may be it for he Taipans
if they lose tonight and the Hawks get another win it will be difficult for them.
I will find it hard to hassle D-mac as I really rspected him as a player but I will come up with something at the game
I am expecting a Taipans win but will not be surprised at a loss.

The Taipans were sitting pretty, but let the guard down in the final minute of the half. A double-digit lead now only three at halftime; Melbourne have a chance here. HT CNS 35-32.

Cairns finally pulls away in the fourth after some nervous moments; win 79-63.

Crunch game in Wollongong on the horizon, which will probably decide fourth place.

Whilst a relatively easy win over an undermanned Tigers, I didn’t think it was all that impressive. It was a grinding win rather than being a win by a well oiled machine. There just doesn’t seem to be the same cohesion with the plays that there was earlier in the season. Both teams played a slow type of game and the Tigers defence was quite good for a lot of the time, but the Taipans would then break the shackles and put on points fairly quickly. This happened a couple of times during the game.

I found it a bit concerning that the Taipans let the Tigers back into the game just before half time and I thought we took longer than we should have to get on top of the Tigers in the second half. Some credit has to be given to the Tigers for that though. Jones shot the best he has all season and that was probably his best game so far, although it was mostly a patch in the second quarter where he did well. Dorsey was good and I hope we can retain him next season.

An interesting part of last nights game was that Ubaka was only on the court for 23 minutes and Tait took the other 17, even though Tait still seems to be struggling a bit. A positive for the Taipans was that they were able to put away a reasonably comfortable win with Loughton not doing a great deal.

The season is on the line next Saturday in Wollongong. Lose and our play off chances are finished. Win and we will only need to win one of our last 2 home games to make them. We do tend to play ok down in Wollongong (even last season) but I can’t see us winning unless we can pull a much improved performance out of the bag, particularly considering Wollongong are playing very well at the moment.

Yep that game will be for 4th, and Friday's game for 2nd. It's a pity it is not on TV because it should have a playoff like intensity.

If we lose against Wollongong all is not lost, we then rely on us winning both remaining home games and Sydney beating Wollongong.

The 'pans must beat the Hawks, dead certainty.
