No, there isn't a TV game on tomorrow night (AFL NAB Cup) but instead One HD are showing the Hawks/Crocs game on Saturday night.

Why do the Taipans even bother turning up to away games ? May as well just forfeit and save on the travel costs ...

Taipans are quite possibly the worst professional mens team in world basketball right now ... Even Alex Loughton doesn't care anymore

36ers seemingly doing everything right & it's showing in the stats.
FG% 59% v 39%
RBS 19 v 15
ASS 11 v 7
BLKS 5 v 1
It seems the boys are sharing the ball really well, mixing it up inside & out, & hungry for the scraps.
'Pans on the other hand, aren't coming across on the radio or live stats as being in it. Make a game of it for your fans FFS.

^ Taipans are spineless sooks who don't care about anything but the soft option when they're on the road ... no matter what's at stake .. They're content in their pathetic comfort zone right now - behind by double digits where there's no pressure and no expectations

nah some of those low level pro teams in south america/europe would be worse. ie: sweden, uruguay, mexico etc.

Congrats 'Pans fans, the guys came up with the goods, & did make a game of it. Me & my big mouth. ;-)
Massive win for Cairns, but that was more Adelaide crap. How they managed to beat Perth three times I will never know.

Check the play by play- Loughton came up BIG in that last quarter. Huge result.
I think everyone was just assuming Cairns were done and that either Wollongong or the Blaze would sneak in, but the Taipans have now forced us all to reconsider.

Brett Maher's post game interview blamed the 36ers for being a young inexperienced team, lacked direction & had too many turnovers.
WTF, we had a total of 19 TOs, 5 for Balls, 4 for Jake. Go figure. Plus, some of the biggest bonehead turnovers I've seen a 36er do were done by Brett Maher at critical times of the game.
Leave the microphone with Brad Davidson, I thought he did a great job. Thoughts?

Redneckville at it's best.
"another game where the so called leader of the team is ripped a new a hole by an opposition big."
"imagine the type of player we could get with the money he is taking up. Its not about getting rid of him and not replacing him, its about uograding on him. My patience has run out with him."
"So the coach needs to tell a so called star player to carry a hand to a shooter does he. Rubbish. Ballinger is a liabilty on d and sooner fans get used to it the better"
Qualitay! They're rubbishing the only good player they've got.
Not surprised to see Cairns come back here. Too much at stake. Hopefully that took a lot out of them.

I wonder how many knowledgeable fans have emailed Boti, to inspire tomorrow's write up?
But please don't antagonise those backward pooh fans, they have a history of posting polls to vote out anyone who opposes their views. :p

BRETT Maher Court tonight resembled unforgiving Madison Square Garden as Adelaide's crowd jeered the 36ers off the court.
Cairns had saved its season in electrifying fashion, holding the 36ers to seven last-quarter points, overturning a 59-68 deficit with a 16-2 sprint to the siren and a stunning 75-70 victory.
The Taipans, on a five-game losing skid coming in - now matched by Adelaide - went 27-7 in the final quarter in front of a shellshocked 5184 fans who vented their anger at the siren.

Eddie Shannon missed a three to tie it and Cairns had possession with 13.8 seconds left, coach Aaron Fearne taking a time-out.
Fans started to pour out of the venue, all too familiar with the Sixers losing from "unloseable" positions.
What a deplorable show of toolmanship from the supporters.
Being a part of the 36er fan-base was something to be proud of once. I'm relieved that they disowned me, so not associated with 'em.

Well I happily tip my hat and eat my words re the Taipans' lack of intenstinal fortitude .. Because they clearly showed a lot to dig out of the hole they dug themselves last night ..
BUT One comeback triumph doesn't make a championship and if they continue to put themselves in those kinds of situations their 25% winning clip on the road won't improve in a hurry

Clearly an excellent win although it seemed a case of Loughton running hot in the last quarter and Adelaide again giving up a substantial home court lead.
Whilst the Taipans in the last quarter combined very well and it would seem lifted their defensive intensity, there are still some worrying signs that all is not well in the Taipans camp. Jones being “left home” is a very interesting development and if he was dropped from the team for the road trip (which would have pleased Tropo :)) one would think that wouldn’t have gone down all that well with Jones and possibly his team mates.
I am only going off the live scores and the parts of the NBL radio commentary that I listened to but it didn’t seem to me that the Taipans were playing like a desperate or happy team in all of the first half and we were still 15 points down at 3\4 time.
The time out that was taken early in the second quarter when Fearne dropped the f-bomb 3 times concerned me. It’s fine to blast the players but his spray was full of venom and it’s hard to see how the players can react positively to that. According to the report in this mornings Cairns Post they also copped a spray at half-time and one can only imagine what was said in that.
I feel Fearne has done a pretty good job with the Taipans both last season (in an overall season context) and this season (up until recently) but the way he seems to be dealing with the players could be undoing all that. I hope I’m wrong, but I still get the sense things are slowly falling apart and that there is a fair amount of discontent with the coach.
It will be interesting to see what happens in Perth. A good showing is needed there to follow this game up and I am hoping that is what happens.

Thank god Jones go left out. Time to retire buddy. All we need now is a miracle return of Kerry W so we can leave tait at home too, and the side will go much better. Good to see that fearne finally played his starters decent minutes in stead of sharing with "Back up" players. That's the way your side needs to run.

I can't recall if the Taipans' 3/4 time communications hit the airwaves, but I'm assuming that the players told Fearney to STFU & let us play.
Regardless, it was a gutsy comeback. Not only did their shots start dropping, but the defensive effort obviously took the 36ers out of their game to snatch the win.
I may have a simplistic view on sport, but if a team can be on the back foot for 3/4 of the game & have the balls to scrap a win, then they deserved it.
I'm not belting the 36ers, they were ambushed by a team that didn't want to give up.

Lookout LilWal you will have Damizo after you soon.
Taipans really need to go on with it now as I feel that without a playoff berth they may be in a tough position next year. Good to see that the coach has finally listened to reality and left Jones at home.
Good win by the Taipans

Did I make such an impression on you Tropo?
Every post you make, you have to mention me in it.
I thought we lived in a democratic part of the world where we can choose to agree or disagree, but it seems like you think only some people have the right to express their opinions on these threads. Unless you own all Taipans and NZ breakers threads, or they are only open to certain people to comment.
If you were fishing for a reply from me you got it, in future I think you should just stick to the topic.
