Seeing as league 1 has one, i figured i'd do it here as well.

Comments on the picks so far?

I had Anstey and Smith at 1 and 2, so that worked out as presumed. (i was pick 2, so it kinda had to).

But Horvath was 28th on my list, and Roberts 37... (i hadnt yet taken being a C into account, i do that during the draft).

And then Rillie was 3rd on my list.

I took Horvath at 3 because I rated him probably the best centre prospect in fantasy terms in the comp this season.

20p 11r 1b 1a 1st per game last season sharing the rock with MacKinnon, Dwight and co...

He's now got a whole lot less talent to compete with and yet he's still a big boy capable of dominanting the key way.

My only reservation was his foot injury from last season...

yeah, makes sense.

He was my 3rd ranked center, so i expected him to go in the first round or two anyway.

Well Kingant just took Larry Abney from the Crocs so we are at No 7 - MacTavish won't be too far away I'd imagine.

I'd like to think we will get through 3 or 4 rounds by Monday.

Interestingly enough (for me anyway) is that the 3 guys I had been tossing up whether to draft at 3rd overall are still there now.

Come on boys, let em slip to me!

The first two/three rounds are by far the most important. I'd rather be doing them now than have 90 seconds to think on Sunday.

funny - out of 7 picks, only 3 of my top 20 have gone... me thinks i've probably made a mistake with my stats.

Funkys pick Dusty Rychart.

That was one of my guys... :(

FYI - Hellcat and Da Houndawg have been added at positions 11 & 12 respectively.

Any probs, talk to me about it, but I don't see an issue with adding them in.

other than reducing the free agent pool to 5 development players

May I suggest excluding the ring in Frezzer25 who happens to have held the draft up for the 12 hour limit whilst including the 2 new and recognised OzHoops regulars to make it a league of 11???

There's always the possibility of reducing the roster size to 9 players should we all desire.

freezer's first ozhoops post was his fnbl post. has he contributed since?

It may just be me... but i've got the pool of players listed at just 114 (someone tell me if you've got more than 120 listed)... which AFAIK was everyone listed on the transaction tracker. (including Decker and Marko, but no developmental players).
a league of 12 is not possible from what i can tell... nor does it make sense to have the draft going right down to the very last few players in the league.
-------

Im sorry to say this, but if there was on "OFFICIAL EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST THREAD", that was up since tuesday, interested people may have wanted to chip in.

Changing the league to 12 (even possibly 11) during the draft does make a lot of changes.

But thats all i'll say on the matter, welcome Houndawg and Hellcat... good luck

I agree, Dawg - can you give Frezzer the chop and let's run an 11 team league and get this show back on the road!!!

Please.

Nah, I don't mind that because it rewards guys who keep their ears to the ground and pick up these developmental guys or developmental guys who may get a few minutes...

Wrong Dawg - I meant the Skin variety...

For the record however Madcat is in favour of Burgess being re-added to the FA pool with Frezzer being dropped also - it wouldn't change his draft selection!

i scoffed at joe drafting smith in the first round last season and ate my words. dunno if i'll be doing the same regarding him just drafting copes earlyish - *scoff*

I was thinking the same thing anok - except I KNOW I won't be eating MY words - SJ - that was D U M B considering who was still on the board!!!

Just double checking some rules - true or false:

We can only pick one centre in the first 5 rounds?

We can only draft 3 current IMPORTS?

We can only draft 2 centres overall?

2 and a half hours to find Freezer, break his legs and get back to a computer for the draft.

...then BURGESS WILL BE MINE!!!

Dude - I honestly think your the only one who WANTS Chris Burgess - he is injured, has been indefinately replaced by some stiff at Cairns and is rumoured to not want to return to Aus this season.

Hence why I thought dropping him and cutting the ghost out of the draft wouldn't be a bad option.

damnit, i was enjoying the fact that the hound was completely oblivious to the fact that burge is likely to miss a lot of basketball
