I know, I was just looking forward to another long winded debate about how the Crocs should have never let him go.

Cairns really could of used Loughton's size tonight even for a short period. Decision to take Dawson who didnt even play was weird. Smarter team would of taken Loughton as insurance against a big tigers team whose bigs dominated.

why does Grabau get almost as many minutes as Dorsey? what is the coach thinking there?

As the saying goes though, the only ship that hasnt been to Cairns is a championship :p

Don't you mean C Williams?

Wouldn't have thought Ubaka was selfish. From the Cairns games I've seen this year he hasn't been selfish at all. For someone who's also ranked 7th in the league for assists, being selfish is a pretty big call

Seems things are falling apart for the Taipans. A huge upset tonight and a good win by the Tigers. Must be close to the upset of the season so far?

Great games from Tigers talls in Nevill and Burston. Crosswhite beaten by his player again this time by Nevill.

They could of left Brebner at home and taken Loughton. I'm sure they wouldnt of missed Brebners 4 fouls in 10 minutes.

Like the Crocs seem to be pretenders. Wildcats and NZ teams to beat.

He's being saved for when we hand Perth their asses again in the playoffs.

Good game to watch, the Tigers did enough to win and were very solid in the last quarter apart from one Williams brainfade (his only for the game from memory) when they were three up with less than 30 seconds to go. He threw a full court pass to Nevill which Crosswhite intercepted, which led to Ubaka finding Dorsey wide open in the corner and he proceeded to airball it long by quite a margin and Melbourne made their free throws and held on.

The pass was tipped and may have taken him out of his rhythm but still, got to make that shot.

Scores were level at each break, and both teams made runs and counter runs. Crosswhite got into foul trouble which really hurt without Loughton. Crosswhite was very effective at both ends and in the first half was feeding the ball nicely from the low post. In the second half the Tigers were very active in the passing and cutting lanes and took this away from Cairns.

Melbourne did a nice job of going to Nevill when he had Rychart or Brebner on his back and the big guy was very efficient, and is showing a lot more effort defensively than earlier in the year, as is the whole team. The intensity is probably the biggest single difference that Williams has made.

Good game as I said, and in the end Cairns didnt hit enough shots against the Tigers zone, and lacked urgency in defensive transition which Devendorf in particular exploited early in the game. Tigers now 2-10 against top five teams and still (barely) alive for the playoffs.

It seems Cairns fans get off on winning against team in the regular season (people bragging about regular season wins against GC and Perth). I guess when you have not won a championship that is all you have to cheer about though.

As a Perth fan (5 championships), winning the regular season match-ups against teams no longer is a reason to get out the champagne though. I guess if Cairns focused on winning titles, and not season match-ups, they might not cancel showing their TV games. No one wants to see a team that doesnt play their best team anyway.

So as you seem to know everything, why would Cairns not play Loughton? Other than to spite your Dream Team selections? See if you can work it out.

No idea why Loughton wasnt played, even limited minutes. If they wanted to rest him they should of left him in cairns to 'rest'.

He doesnt even have OP anyway. He plays 1 game a week in the NBL for God's sake. NBA players play 82 a season and don't get it. They say an abductor strain, which can lead to OP. In limited minutes in the NBL I highly doubt he would be at risk of it like AFL players, who run a much greater distance, train more and kick the ball.

I will throw my 2 cents in here and say the reason he didn't play was because he was injured. Shocker, I know. Him not playing does not help Cairns in the game last night but playing and making an injury worse really screws up the rest of the season. Great medical assessment though, are you a doctor?

I don't care in the slightest. To win a championship out of third place, you have to win twice on the road in the first round. Do you think you're going to get that with your one away win so far?

Not buying into the jousting session here, but I don’t get that you have to win twice on the road in the first round.

In the first round (semi-final) if the third placed team wins the first game away, they only need to win the second game on their home court to win the semi-final series.

Be realistic. He's injured, however and wherever and whenever it happened, if he wasn't he'd be playing.

If the injury was to Loughton it would probably be season ending, but Redhage is tough and wouldn be surprised if he returned in a few weeks. In saying that they still have Matt Knight to come back so a bit of depth there. Andre Brown looks like he could be alright too. If Redhage is out for season they have options

History still shows 5 'ships' to perth and 0 to cairns. Still think a perth or nz win this season anyway.

And without Loughton, you're done too.

Plus, Perth might have been your bitch, but guess what, you're New Zealand's bitch.

Hand the Breakers the trophy right now I reckon, this has suddenly turned into a rather boring season.

My loyalties still lay with the Snakes but dude, you gotta know when to pick your fights ... Taipans fans have no business sledging Perth fans about big picture success .. no business at all ..
