Tigers Notes:

* Did not know how to play against Crocs Matchup Zone D
* Barlow got blocked by Joe Ring (http://bp1.blogger.com/_8Jjgee7FvEY/Rgb0zaRYG2I/AAAAAAAAAGg/evaiMbLiMZQ/s200/basketball_ring_s.jpg) on a dunk attempt

Thanks for the info. So, the Tigers are only 3-3 in the preseason so far (I think that's correct). They are probably just foxing.
Did Tommy Greer play? He hurt his ankle pretty bad on the weekend, but not sure how bad it is, so if he played, it's probably OK.

TOWNSVILLE CROCODILES 118 (63) (C Williams 28 J Rillie 21 R Ellis 19) defeated MELBOURNE TIGERS 103 (70) (D Barlow 18 S Hoare 16 S Mackinnon 15) at SEA-FM Stadium, Townsville.
FG%: TSV 40/79, MEL 38/71. Tigers were 27/46 in the first half.
3FG%: TSV 11/29, MEL 10/22.
FT: TSV 27/41, MEL 17/26. Foul count was 30-20 against Melbourne.
REB: 45-39 MEL.
TO: MEL 25 TSV 13. Melbourne really went off the boil in the second half and basically handed the game to Townsville- the fourth quarter score was 26-10 in the Crocs' favour.
Of course, the Tigers have Ere and Anstey to add to the lineup.
And Greer's stat line: 4 pts on 1/3, 3 reb, 1 fl, 1 ast, 1 to, 1 blk in 21:53.

Thanks Derek. There's some ugly stats there, but that's what the pre-season is for - ironing out the chinks.
The 2nd half shooting stats and the turnover count is just horrible.

Well, he did go 8/12 on the night (5/9 from downtown). That's kind of 'on fire'. :P

Very interested in seeing Barlow at the point. Had some high TO's in the Big V (played 3 games) IIRC. Will be fascinating.

Can anyone provide us with insight and commentary as to how the Tigers bench went....... Sturt & Johnson in particular.
Tigers may needs these guys in the regular season as a backup for Anstey, so I'm interested in how they are going in the pre-season

Working from memory htre, I felt they played pretty well at the start of the game- they were able to feed off passes from Barlow and Mackinnon for points, and rebounded okay. Both ran into foul trouble, but as backups that's not as much of an issue.

Box score (http://www.crocodiles.com.au/site/_content/document/00006094-source.html)
Great to see MacKinnonn have a really good 20 minutes, Grizzard's line looking better.
I reckon throw Anstey and Ebi into the team and the worries at PG will fade, as there is far less need to create points for others.
IIRC Barlow played about 5 MPG straight after half time every game at PG when Muursepp was on the team and seemed to go alright.
Great rebounding effort by the whole team great to see, with Sturt and Johnson only getting 4 between them. If my adding is correct, they only played about 42 minutes between them, who payed the other 6 at centre? Hoare?
